It is exciting times for Lincoln’s property market! Since the changes to lockdown, we have seen a significant increase in enquiries across our Lincoln and Market Rasen offices.

Lincoln and the surrounding county is proving to be a very busy market, with record breaking months for our property sales in June, July and August. And it is not just Lincolnites seeking new properties within the city; prospective buyers from further afar are pursuing Lincoln as a new place to live.

The market is witnessing a huge spike in those wanting to leave London for affordable property in the midlands. It has been cited by Escape the City, which helps people find work outside of the capital, 51% of their new enquiries in June were from people wanting to leave London, compared with 20% for the same period last year.

Simon Bentley, Senior Partner said: “People have reassessed their lives and what is important to them. We are inundated with enquiries from people in London and the South-East looking to make the move to Lincoln. So many people do not need to live where they work now, so they want more square foot for their money, and Lincoln can give them just that.”

“As a proud member of The Guild of Property Professionals we are in a unique position when it comes to introducing buyers to properties. Only one estate agent per town or city is invited to join. As The Guild member for both Lincoln and Market Rasen we are able to market properties nationwide across a network of over 800 estate agents.”

Simon adds: “Lincoln is a very competitive market and during the month of June, we achieved an average of 99% of the asking of properties sold. The market has been further stimulated by the announcement of the Stamp Duty Break.”
